Centreville was hoping to bounce back from their loss to Tuscarora and win their homecoming game against undefeated Lake Braddock. The fans were out in black to support their wildcats. The team came out behind Dylan Cooper and Lake Braddock won the toss. They deferred to the second half and the game started with Centreville having the ball.  On Centreville’s first drive, Lake Braddock’s defense held strong and forced a three and out. Centreville’s defense did the same thing to Lake Braddock including a tackle for a loss of 7 yards on 3rd down.  Both defenses would stay strong for the first quarter only allowing 1 first down which was converted by Centreville thanks to a 8 yard pass by Jameel Siler to Isaiah Culver.  At the end of the 1st quarter, the score was 0-0.

                Both defenses would stay strong through the second half as well. Marco Tillard came up with a sack on third and 13 forcing Lake Braddock to punt. Centreville would put together a 14 play drive but the 4th down attempted was stopped by Lake Braddock. On Lake Braddock’s next possession, Centreville batted a ball and on the next pass Isaiah  Culver intercepted the pass. Centreville put together a drive a attempted a field goal but it was blacked. The score at the end of the 1st half was 0-0.

                Lake Braddock started with the ball. Lake Braddock would put together a drive which they would score on. They scored with 8:21 left in the 3rd quarter making the score 7-0.Both defenses would come up with great stops including a fumble by Centreville and it was recovered by Lake Braddock. The score was 7-0 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

                Marco Tillard came up with a huge sack on 1st and 10 making it 2nd and 17. Lake Braddock fumbled but it was recovered quickly by Lake Braddock. Dylan Cooper came up with a huge tackle to stop Lake Braddock on 4th &5.  Centreville would turn the ball over on downs and Lake Braddock would have to punt. On the punt, Centreville blocked it and started their drive at the 35 yard line. Centreville would convert a 3rd & 2 and Jameel Siler would throw the ball to Isaiah Culver but he was call out of bounds. Lake Braddock was called for a personal foul penalty giving Centreville 1St and Goal.  Centreville made it to the 2 yard line. They were called for a foul and pushed back 5 yards to the 7. On 2nd down, Julian Garrett received the ball but fumbled it on the end line. There would be a scrum and Deonte Edmonds came up with it to give Centreville the touchdown. The kicking team came out on the field, but Lake Braddock called a timeout.  The offense went back on the field and attempted a two point conversion. Julian Garrett took the ball from Jameel Siler and ran outside for the two point conversion and the lead.  Centreville led 8-7 with 16 seconds left. Lake Braddock received the ball and both pass attempts were incomplete.

                The fans were into the game and loud throughout. The crowd and the team went crazy when the touchdown and two-point conversion was scored. Centreville’s next game is a home game versus Oakton at 7, Friday night.
