Centreville was hoping to continue their two game winning streak and win in the first round of the playoffs. Centreville entered the field behind Carter Egbers carrying the flag. The captains were Isaiah Culver, Tariq Badie, Caleb Brooks and Thomas Clements.  Centreville won the toss and deferred to the second half. Mount Vernon punted on their first drive and Centreville got the ball on their 48 yard line. On the first play of the game Deonte Edmonds had a 52 yard Touchdown run. The Wildcats faked going for 1 and instead Presley Egbers passed to Bassie Kanu giving Centreville an 8-0 lead with 10:07 left in the first quarter. Mount Vernon, on their next drive, would gain a few first drives. They would be forced to punt and Centreville would start with the ball on their 11 yard line. Mark Brown and Julian Garret both had long runs and Isiah Culver scored a touchdown. However, it was called back. Julian Garret would score a 7 yard touchdown run a few plays later. Centreville was now leading 15-0 with 4:49. Mount Vernon would be forced to punt after Marco Tillard sacked Mount Vernon’s QB in the backfield. IN two plays Centreville would score. The first play was a 10 yard rush from Julian Garrett and the other was a 40 yard touchdown run from Deonte Edmonds. Centreville now led 22-0 with 2:18 left. On Mount Vernon’s next drive, Isaiah Culver would intercept the pass and run 29 yards for a touchdown. Centreville now lead 29-0 with 52 seconds left in the first quarter.  The first quarter ended after Caleb Brooks batted down a pass. The score was 29-0 after the first quarter.    

 

Mount Vernon would be forced to punt. Julian Garrett had a 13 yard rush and a 47 yard touchdown rush on the drive. However, the touchdown would be stopped short because of a penalty call.  However, Julian Garrett would get the ball again and score a 24 yard touchdown. Centreville now led 36-0 with 8:15 left in the first half.  Mount Vernon would punt again. Centreville had two long rushes on the next drive. Julian Garrett had a 20 yard rush and Mark Brown had a 31 yard touchdown run. The PAT was good even though it bounced off the upright. Centreville led 43-0 with 2:46 left in the 1st half. Mount Vernon would put together a drive but it was ended by a Raphael Walker Interception and then the clock expired. The first half ended with a score of 43-0.

 

Centreville received the kickoff and put together a long drive. The only major play on the drive was Tariq Badie’s 7 yard touchdown run. Tyler Gornak’s PAT was good giving Centreville a 50-0 lead. Mount Vernon got into field goal range. The attempt was blocked and then returned to the 23 yard line by Raphael Walker. The 3rd quarter would end with a score of 50-0.

 

Centreville would turn the ball over on downs and Mount Vernon would be forced to punt again. Chase Burch had a long 22 yard rush and Kyrie Parker would score a 3 yard rush. The PAT was good giving Centreville a 57-0 lead. The clock would expire a few plays into the next drive and Centreville would win the game 57-0.

 

The Wildcats head to face South Lakes next week away from Home.
