First round of the playoffs

The girls were hoping to start the playoffs with a win.  The starters for the game were Camryn Conklin, Aleigh Gambone, Ruth Axton, Callie Doyle, and Ashley Martin. Callie Doyle was on the tip off, but Westfield won it. Centreville would start the scoring with a two-pointer from Ashley Martin. Aleigh Gambone would score the next points of the game. Callie Doyle would score two and Ruth Axton would score 3 giving Centreville a huge lead. Centreville would score two more times before Westfield. Tatiyone Clagett and Aleigh Gambone would both score. Westfield would then score three times to end the quarter. Centreville led at the end of the first quarter with a lead of 14-7.

Centreville started with the ball. Callie Doyle would score the first points of the quarter with Ashley Martin scoring quickly after her. Aleigh Gambone made a great backward shot to extend Centreville’s lead. Westfield would score their first points of the quarter. Both teams would score a few free throws. Centreville would score the next 6 points with Callie Doyle scoring 4 points and Anna Yee scoring the other 2.  The quarter ended with a score of 29-15 in favor of Centreville. 

Westfield started the second half with the ball and scored the first points of the quarter. Centreville’s first points would be scored by Ashley Martin. Callie Doyle would score the next points extending Centreville’s large lead. Centreville would score again but it would be matched by Westfield. Both teams would score a few free throws after a few fouls by both teams. Centreville’s last points of the quarter would be scored by Aleigh Gambone, but Westfield would end the quarter scoring last. The score at the end of 3 was 38-25 in favor of Centreville.

Westfield started the 4^th quarter with the ball and scored 2 free throws the start the scoring. Westfield and Centreville would both score two free throws. Centreville would then hit back to back three pointers from Camryn Conklin and Ruth Axton. Both Centreville and Westfield would score two with the two being from Callie Doyle.  Centreville and Ruth Axton would hit a three pointer. Westfield and Centreville would each get a few more free throws ending the game at the score of 53-39 in favor of Centreville

The girls play tonight (2/14) away against Oakton.
