1st Round of the regional playoffs

Centreville was hoping to make it further in the playoffs by beating Lake Braddock at home. The starters were Caroline Barnes, Katie Le, Kylie Martino, Grace Mondloch, Aleigh Gambone, Jam Odeh, Rachel Fisher, Casey Peterson, Ashley Anderson, Lexi Littlefield and Nastassia Tiangco. Lake Braddock started the game with the ball but Centreville had the first chance of the game with a nice pass by Aleigh Gambone across the box but Lake Braddock cleared it.  The next chance was a free kick for Lake Braddock which was too high and went out for a throw in. Centreville’s next chance was from a free kick passed to Katie Le who passed to Casey Peterson whose shot was to high. Caroline Barnes made the first save when Lake Braddock attacked next. Centreville had a throw which was passed to Casey Peterson but the shot was blocked. Lake Braddock had two chances next. One was a free kick which was passed short and the other was a breakaway chance where Caroline Barnes came out blocked the shot and collides with the player. Centreville had their next chance with a free kick after Lake Braddock received a yellow card but Jam Odeh shot was just wide of the post. Both teams had a few chances but then Centreville received their first corner of the game. Lexi Littlefield took the corner and a Lake Braddock player tried to clear the ball but it bounced in off of her and Centreville lead 1-0. Lake Braddock had a great chance but Centreville defend well and Caroline Barnes came up with a great save. The half ended with Centreville having the last chance which was a shot from Ashley Anderson. The half ended 1-0 in favor of Centreville.

Centreville started the half with the ball. The first chance of the half was from a cross by Katie Le to Casey Peterson but the pass was a little too high. Soon after Centreville received a corner kick and the header was missed by Ashley Anderson. However Aleigh Gambone got the ball and shot but it went off the crossbar. The ball bounced right back to her and she scored giving Centreville a 2-0 lead. Rachael Fisher came up with a huge slide tackle to stop Lake Braddock from shooting. Centreville had a nice play starting with a pass from Aleigh Gambone to Katie Le who back heeled the ball back to Aleigh Gambone, to Casey Peterson and they back t o Aleigh Gambone whose shot was saved by the goalie. Lake Braddock’s next chance was stopped by Kylie Martino. Both teams had a few chances and then Centreville had a great chance. Ashley Anderson received a great pass and dribbled past a defender and scored making it 3-0. The game ended soon after with the score of 3-0.

Centreville plays Yorktown at Yorktown on 5/26/16 in the next round of the playoffs.
