Suffolk Stars Invite update at 9:30 pm

Good Evening Wildcats Family:

The TJ district meet will not be affected by the weather. The bus is schedule to leave the school at 3;30 pm sharp so athletes need to be ready to go by 3:15 at the side door. Coach Edwards and small will be with the team to TJ. All parents who scheduled to assist we look forward to seeing you there. Remember, no spikes!!!!!

All other will be participating at Boo Williams.

Suffolk Stars Invitational is still on . We are monitoring the situation. There is no schedule of increment weather until very late Friday night, Saturday morning. If we get there (Hampton area) and the weather get bad and can not leave Saturday morning, we have been given permission by the Activities Office to stay an extra night (come back early Sunday Morning if necessary) Again, it does not appear that the weather in Fairfax is going to be bad. Because we have paid Suffolk Stars their fee, the team will be participating at Boo Williams. Running events now  start at 3 pm. Field event will go to CNU because they start at 2 pm and 12 noon at Boo Williams. .

CNU will be Paige in the LJ/TJ (going back to Boo Williams for the 4x200m relay, Caden in the 500m/LJ (back to Boo Williams for the 4x200 ) Alex in the 1600m run, Dan/Ryan in the 3200m run and Thomas in Boys shot.

Ok, I just received information that the Suffolk Star Invitational has been changed to all day tomorrow (1/6/17), starting at 11 am. This change has occurred because of the pending snow storm that is expected to hit the SE part of VA. Even if we leave early ( 8:30 am) we could  be caught coming back the next morning. The weather forecast is for SE VA. to get hit Friday night and all day Saturday with 3 or more inches of snow. I have talked to Mr. Sanabria and we are watching the forecast along with FCPS decisions. I will update as soon as I receive information.

Thank you!

DCIAA Invite 1/4/17

Good afternoon Wildcat T&F Family:

The PR Holiday Invitational is re-scheduled for 12/26/16 and in respect for the Christmas Holiday we will not be participating in it, So, I have entered the team in the DCIAA invitational for 1/4/17. We need as meeting meets as possible in order to get our marks/ times and be ready for our conference championship. There is always a possibility of more increment weather so we must get it in when we can. Now, the meet starts at 12 noon and ends around 5:30 pm. All other meets, besides the ones we are already schedule in, do not meet our needs with only one entry. So athletes participating in the meet with be leaving early two days the first week we come back to school. Just a Heads -up!I will have a meet roster for the DCIAA meet up by 1/2/17,

Athletes check the practice schedule/workouts and be ready to compete in the new year.

Continue to enjoy your holiday break!

Woodson Polar Bear Meet 12/10/16

Good Evening Wildcat Parents:

If catching the bus, athletes should be at the school no later than 8:10 am. The bus is schedule to leave at 8:30 am. This means that we can get started around 9:30 am (need about 30 mins to warm-up)
Because of the uniqueness' of this meet and the beautiful weather, it will be ok if you want to drive you son or daughter to the meet tomorrow and take them home after their events! There are three teams but Woodson has 246 on their roster. We will be complete by 1 pm because their field is rented out for another event. The Woodson coach mention that they will be trying to do something to minimize the time out in the cold but I do not know what it is at this point.
Please make sure your sons and daughters are dress properly to be on Mt. Everest! I will be bringing snacks, fruit and drinks but I believe the hot drinks will work tomorrow!!!!!
The events are:
starting around 9:30ish
4x800m relay Boys/Girls
4x200m relay
1600m run
500m dash
1000m run
300m dash
3200m run
4x400m relay
LJ/TJ Boys and Girls
Shot Boys/Girls
HJ Boys and Girls
Remember, we are flexible!!!!!! Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
Thank you for all you do!

WOODSON POLAR BEAR MEET

Greetings Wildcat Family:

The meet is on as of 12/9/16! A trainer was found! PLEASE dress in Heavy Layers for the weather! I am waving the go back on bus rule. Just notify a coach that you are leaving. the meet will be run like our district meets,so changes can be made.

I will inform the family with the updates form the Regional officials. More crazier then ever!

These are the entries for Saturdays Polar Bear Meet. I will check with the event coaches later today to see if their entries are correct. They are not having the 55m dash or hurdlers so most of the sprinters will run next week at EPHS. They are trying to start the meet early ( 9:30 ish). We will need some timers and the Woodson coach said we can make some hot beverages if we bring the products ( she going to give us hot water)! I will update later on today. Please check files for events roster!

Thank you!
