Spring 2021 Boys Soccer Tryout Information

Tryout information for this Spring is posted below.  Please note if there are any changes we will do our best to get it posted here on the website, as well as on Twitter (@CVHS_BSOC), Instagram (cville_bsoc), and out through the Remind App (players must provide me their phone #s)

Prior to tryouts All players MUST have a completed VHSL Physical on File as well as complete the “R School Registration”  (both can be found on the school website)  Failure to do so will result in the inability to tryout this spring.

NOTE:  Social Distancing and Masks must be worn during check-in and throughout tryouts unless mandates change. (I will let you know if they do)

 

TRYOUTS - begin Monday, April 12th --- Tryout schedule:

 

Monday 4/12 – 3:15-5:15 PM @Braddock Park) – FRESHMEN & NEW Sophomores ONLY!!!

                          8:00-9:30 PM @Centreville High School (Stadium Field) – All other Players

(Note:  Players will be asked to arrive at 7:45 to check in – Please remain Socially distant and wear your mask.  They are to meet on the track near the snack bar and not go anywhere near the field)

Tuesday 4/13 -8:00-9:30PM @Centreville High School (Stadium Field)

Wednesday 4/14 -8:00-9:30PM @Centreville High School (Stadium Field)

Thursday 4/15 – 8:00-9:30PM @Centreville High School (Stadium Field)

Friday 4/16 -3:30-5:00PM @ Braddock Park– JV Candidates Only

                    8:00-9:30PM  @Centreville High School (Stadium Field) – Varsity Candidates only

Saturday 4/17 9:00am-10:30pm @Centreville High School (Stadium Field) – TBD

 

*You will be told prior to Friday’s sessions which final tryout date/time to attend

** First cuts will be made after Wednesday’s session

*** Final Cuts should be made after Friday and Saturday's sessions

**** During tryouts, all players will be provided a Tryout # to pin to their clothing – They are responsible to have that number on during all sessions – No Replacements will be given

If you don’t wear them, you will not be allowed to play.  No CLUB gear is allowed.

***** ALL players should bring a properly inflated soccer ball W/name on it!

 

All boys will be judged equally based on the following criteria:

  1. Technical ability (dribbling, ball control/receiving, passing, shooting, etc.)
  2. Tactical ability (Soccer IQ/Decision making/Field awareness, speed of play)
  3. Athleticism/Physical (speed/agility, endurance, tenacity)
  4. Work Ethic/Attitude (team oriented, coachable)
  5. Fitness Level
  6. Academics

Spring 2020 Boys Soccer Tryout Information

All players MUST obtain a GREEN wristband (to be worn throughout the entire week) from the athletic trainer on Monday 2/24 in order to participate.  She will be in the cafeteria for during all lunch periods.  Additionally a completed ECC must be turned into the coaching staff prior to tryouts or on the day of. (However if it is not filled out properly, the student cannot participate)

Friday 2/28 -3:30-5:00PM @ Braddock Park– JV Candidates Only

Saturday 2/29 10:00am-12:00pm @Centreville High School (Stadium Field) – Varsity Candidates only

 Last Name/Grade # written clearly on the front and back! (Ex: Smith/9) Shin guards are NOT OPTIONAL…if you don’t wear them, you will not be allowed to play.  No CLUB gear is allowed.
