Centreville 2 Westfield 0 4/21/16 The JV team won 4-1 and the varsity team was hoping to continue that as well as continue their 2 game winning streak. The starters were Caroline Barnes, Lindsey Hendrickson, Katie Le, Grace Mondloch, Aleigh Gambone, Jam Odeh, Cassidy Brown, Rachel Fisher, Casey Peterson, Ashley Anderson, and Lexi Littlefield. Centreville started with the ball and Katie Le had the first shot of the game. Westfield had the next two chances but Caroline Barnes saved one and the other went over the bar. Both teams had chances over the next few minutes. Centreville had a great play with amazing passes by Casey Peterson, Ashley Anderson and Katie Le. Aleigh Gambone received the ball and the Westfield made a great save and caught the ball. The next good chance was from Katie Le and Aleigh Gambone again who created a 1,2 pass and Aleigh Gambone shot but the goalie made another great save. Centreville and Westfield had chances with both goalkeepers making great saves. The next chance was for Westfield. Caroline Barnes came out and missed the ball but Kat Bennett stopped a few shot attempts as well as being a victim of a foul by Westfield. Caroline Barnes had to come out for a few minutes so Jam Odeh went into goal. The half ended 0-0. The next half started with Westfield kicking off. Westfield had a huge scoring opportunity but the Westfield player missed an open goal. In this half there were not a lot of amazing chances but a lot of shots and good plays. Centreville had many crosses a few that were too high and a few were saved by the goalie. After that one chances for Westfield they were pretty quiet on the shot front. The 2nd half ended 0-0. Westfield started the 1 overtime period with the ball but Centreville had all of the chances in overtime. Ashley Anderson had the first shot and the goal keeper made an amazing save. Centreville next had a corner kick which was cleared by the goalie but Rachel Fisher won the ball back. Katie Le passed the ball to Aleigh Gambone and Aleigh Gambone scored. 1-0 Centreville. Westfield had one chance but it was called off sides. 1-0 At the end of the 1st overtime. The second overtime period Centreville played more defensive and the only chance was a shot from Ashley Anderson that bounced right in the goal and bounced out. It was called a goal and the game ended 2-0. The fans were very into the game and showed great support for their team through the entire game.
