Centreville 1 Westfield 0 5/18/16 Concorde Conference 5 Semifinal Centreville was coming off a bye week and was matched up against rivals Westfield.The starters were Caroline Barnes, Katie Le, Kylie Martino, Grace Mondloch, Aleigh Gambone, Jam Odeh, Cassidy Brown, Rachel Fischer, Ashley Anderson, Lexi Littlefield and Nastassia Tiangco. Centreville kicked the ball off but Westfield had the first few chances in the game. The first chance of the game was a corner cleared for another corner kick. Centreville’s first chance of the game was a pass from Aleigh Gambone to Katie Le who shot but the keeper saved it. Centreville had a few chances from throw-ins. Aleigh Gambone passed to Ashley Anderson who passed to Katie Le who scored a goal with her head. 1-0 Centreville Westfield kicked the ball and had a 2 on 2 chance that was cleared by Centreville’s defense. Later, Katie Le got a yellow card and soon after Ashley Anderson had two shots. Centreville had two corners back to back which had a shot from Ashley Anderson and Lexi Littlefield. Centreville had an amazing chance because of a pass by Aleigh Gambone to Lindsey Hendrickson but the shot bounced off the post. Westfield had the last chance of the half with a free kick but the half ended 1-0 in favor of Centreville. Westfield kicks the ball off however Centreville had the first chance of the half with a corner kick. Katie Le and Ashley Anderson both made efforts to score but the ball was cleared. Westfield had a few chances including a free kick. The next chance was a shot from Nastassia Tiangco went wide of the post. Aleigh Gambone passed to Ashley Anderson but the pass was a little too far. Cassidy Brown had a great run and eventually a shot that was deflected out for a corner kick. Centreville had many chances and Westfield only had a few towards the last 10 minutes. Rachel Fisher and Westfield received a free kick which was shot wide of the post. The game ended with Westfield controlling the game but it was too late and Centreville won 1-0. The girls will play Oakton, Friday night at 6 at Westfield.
