Monroe Parker Entries

The entries and time schedule for this Saturday’s Monroe Parker Invitational at Burke Lake Park have been emailed and posted to the Facebook group and Google Classroom.  All athletes in the freshmen/sophomore races arrive at Burke Lake Park by 7 am to warm-up.  All athletes in the varsity and JV races must arrive by 8 am to support their teammates in those races.  There is no bus for this meet.

Be advised that all athletes and spectators must park at Fairfax Baptist Temple Academy on 6401 Missionary Lane, Fairfax Station, VA 22039.  Shuttle buses will then bring you into the park.  You may want to give yourself an extra 15 – 20 minutes of time to adjust for this development.

While athletes are expected to remain at Burke Lake for the duration of the meet, I want to be respectful of any plans or commitments that may compromise that.  If you have to leave early, please email Coach Fanale any time prior to the meet.  Athletes will have to check out with one of the coaches and coaches must have confirmation that the athlete is leaving with their parent or guardian.

Summer Training Check-In

Wildcats,

By now you should be in the middle of completing your summer training and I hope you’re all putting in the work!  I am asking all of you to fill out a Google Form that is posted to the team Google Classroom, team Facebook page, and in an email sent to the team by the end of the week. After you complete it, I  will have a better understanding of how your individual training is going and if any adjustments need to be made.  Please let me know if you have any issues accessing the Google Form; you may need to use your “@fcpsschools.net” gmail accounts to open it.  As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions at jmfanale@fcps.edu.

Blue Ridge Cross Country Camp

Wildcats!

I hope you’re all doing well and are ready for the beginning of summer break!  I just got an email from Coach Deegan over at Westfield, informing me that Blue Ridge Cross Country camp will be returning this summer!  It is regarded as one of the best cross country camps on the East Coast and will be held from July 25 – 30.  Here is the link if you want more information and would like to register: www.blueridgerunningcamp.com.  Please note that attending camp is NOT required.  However, it is a good opportunity to train in a different and challenging place like the Blue Ridge Mountains and to make friends with student-athletes from other teams in the area and outside of the area.  As always if you have any questions, please let me know!

Cheers,

Coach Fanale
