Centreville 0 Broad Run 3 3/30/16 The Centreville boys’ team was hoping to rebound from their 4-0 lost to Langley. They were also hoping that they could use the momentum from the JV game to help them. Nathan Her scored the only goal of the game with 20 seconds left to given Centreville the win. Centerville’s starters were Nicholas Winans, Javier Lopez, Steven Kim, Natnael Digafe, Collin Harrell, Joseph Azzouz, Chris Kim, Ramez Bakhtari, Nik Hoffman, Mateen Bakhtari and Connor Logsdon. Centreville started with the ball and had the early pressure. Broad Run had the first set piece of the game which was a corner kick which was cleared by Centreville. Centreville had the next chance with a long pass from Collin Harrell to Ramez Bakhtari but a broad run player cleared the ball before it could become dangerous. Broad Run scored on the next chance. The ball was crossed in by Broad Run and cleared by Centreville to a Broad Run player. Broad Run crossed the ball to the back post and the ball was placed in the bottom left corner to score the first goal of the game. Centreville had the next few chances with a few free kicks and a few shots from open play but all stopped by Broad Run keeper and defenders. The rest of the 1st half was back and forth soccer with a few free kicks for each team as well as a few opportunities for both. The last chance was the half was a great chance for Centreville but the referees called the play offside and the half ended 1-0. Broad Run started the half with the ball and continued their pressure from the first half. Centreville and Broad Run were pretty even until Broad Run scored their next goal. This goal was very similar to the first one. The original cross was cleared and then the next cross was knocked into the goal. Centreville had 2 free kicks but the goalie cleared both of them. Board Run had a corner which they crossed into to score their 3rd goal of the game. David Daniel showed some nice footwork and advanced the ball up the field but it was intercepted by Broad Run. Centreville had two more great chances. The ball was kicked up the side of the field and collected the ball which was dribbled in to the box but the pass was intercepted. Their last good chance was from an over the top ball eventually controlled and chipped over the goalie but it was cleared of the line by Broad Run. The final score was 3-0. The team continued to push hard throughout the match and gave it their all. The boys next match is Monday at Robinson.
